Kindergarten Transition will take place on June 17th at 9:30am and 8th Grade Graduation will take place on June 18 at 11:00am in the Church. We are proud of our students! Let us continue to pray for our students and graduates!

Anointing of the Sick
On Sunday, June 5th during the 12:45pm Mass, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Anyone with a chronic illness or pain, or soon to go under surgery, or the elderly can avail themselves of this Sacrament of Healing.

St. Anthony’s Feast
We will celebrate the Feast of St. Anthony on June 13th. St. Anthony’s Bread will be blessed and distributed at the 8:15am Mass thanks to the generosity of the Cibelli Family who have been following this tradition for many years. We will also bless and distribute St. Anthony’s Bread at the 7:00pm Mass thanks to the Murickan Family who are starting this tradition at the evening Mass. We are very grateful to both families.

Idente Youth Summer Camp for Teens
Our Idente Youth Camp for Teens (12-17 years old) will be held on August 1-6 (Monday - Saturday. The camp includes swimming, boating, indoor and outdoor sports, nature hikes, and campfires. The cost is $300 per person (the price includes lodging, 3 meals a day and all activities). Those campers who participate in at least two fundraisers pay only $270. Catholic Charities Junior Board Casino Gala on June 16, 2011.
This gala is for young adults in their 20s and 30s. The purpose of the gala is to raise money for the St. Nicholas Project. The gala will be held at Providence, located at 311 West 57th Street, just of 8th Avenue, from 8:00pm to 12:00am. To purchase tickets, please contact: Kathleen.mcgowan@archny.org

Save the Date
Pilgrimage to the National Center of Padre Pio (Barto, Pennsylvania) on Saturday—July 16th, 2011 (7:00am departure time). Ticket price to be determined.

Reminder: Installation of Pastor
Next week – June 12th (Pentecost Sunday) we will celebrate a Mass at 10:30am where the Regional Vicar Monsignor Dwyer will install Father Martin I. Esguerra, M.Id as our pastor. There will NOT be a 10:15 am or an 11:30am Mass since both have been combined in order to allow more people to attend this ceremony. We hope you can join in us as we ask the Holy Spirit blessings upon Father Martin and stay after the Mass in the parish hall for a small reception.

Corpus Christi Celebration
We will have a Corpus Christi Procession around the streets of our neighborhood on Sunday, June 26th at 4:00pm to commemorate the Feast of Corpus Christi. Please contact Fr. Martin to offer your assistance and ideas. All children who have done their First Holy Communion this year and last year are invited to participate in the Procession as the Court of Honor as we give witness to the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Idente Youth Summer Camp for Younger Children
Our Idente Youth Summer Camp for children 8 to 10 years old takes place from July 22nd to July 24th (Friday to Sunday) at Tri-State Camp, Port Jervis, N.Y. Activities include swimming, boating, indoor and outdoor sports, nature hikes, and campfires. Cost: $200 per child (includes lodging in cabins, three meals a day, and all activities). The National Puerto Rican Day Parade will take place Sunday – June 12th at 11:00am and this year it is dedicated to the hometowns of CaboRojo and Patillas, Puerto Rico.

Parish Council
Reminder – all are welcome to attend our next Parish Council Meeting – Monday June 6th at 7:30pm in the Zerega Conference Room. This meeting is very important since we will continue to plan for our 85th/60th Anniversaries.

Televised Sunday Mass
The Sunday Mass is now airing on ABC Family from 6:30am to 7:00am each Sunday morning. The taping of the Sunday Mass is produced by the Passionist Fathers and Brothers out of New York City.

Holy Cross Church Street Fair
