IDENTE MISSIONARIES OF CHRIST CRUCIFIED

The Idente Missionaries of Christ the Redeemer:

An Institute of Consecrated Life of Pontifical Right, in 2009 and composed of both men’s and women’s branches. It was founded in Spain by Fernando Rielo in 1959.
 
Founded by Fernando Rielo Pardal:

Fernando Rielo was born in Madrid on August 28, 1923. From childhood on he experienced love for God in the Person of the Father, a love which governed his whole life and left its imprint on the spirituality of his sons and daughters.
At the age of sixteen he had on experience which marked him forever-the call of our Heavenly Father, who said to him: "Be holy, my son, as I am Holy." He himself stated, "I promised Him I would always repent of everything that might cause Him displeasure and that I would spend my entire life seeking his will.. , and I began to desire that these words of the Father would enter the hearts of all."
His passion for Christ also led him at that time to compose a prayer which he would la ter pass on to his ldente sons and daughters and which would come to form part of their observance: "I promise You, Lord, to live and transmit the Gospel with the sacrifice of my life and my reputation and, faithful to the greatest
witness to love, to die for You."
His intense spirituality was concretely manifested when, at the age of twenty-three, he entered the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, where he completed his philosophical and theological studies. Providence had other plans, however, and he leh the Congregation in 19 54, returning to the world of work while awaiting new signs of the divine will. He was sent to o civil service post in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Canary Islands. The Institute ld of Christ the Redeemer, Men and Women ldente Missionaries, arose there on June 29, 1959.
The religious foundation would be fol lowed by others, in his search for every possible way to toke the Gospel to all people. This aspiration developed in him an extraordinary creativity in both the religious and civil spheres. In his concern for the spiritual and social needs of human life, he created various foundations and associations for the spiritual, moral , and civil good of humanity.
In 1988 he moved to New York at the request of his sons and daughters to receive specialized medical treatment after the amputation of his right leg. This and other infirmities prevented normal movement. He died in New York on December 6, 2004, under the tender core of his spiritual children.





“Idente”

The name “Idente” has its root in the imperative “Id” of the Spanish verb “to go”; joined to the ending “—ente” of the Latin participle —ens, —entis, it signifies walking or journeying forward while uniting ourselves permanently to the divine filial awareness of Christ: the consciousness of being a son.

The meaning of the Idente Emblem

Fernando Rielo was in the Seminary of the Redemptorists on December 24, 1951, day of the Christmas Eve Mass, he was very desolate with a question about his mission; during the middle of the dialogue with God appeared a multitude of future missionaries, with sufferings and joys, he experienced the announcement that Fernando Rielo was going to found an Institution: he saw two angels that showed him the Emblem of that Institute.
The meaning of the Emblem has many spiritual values: The star is related to the day of the Three Wise Men..... The crown is triple in relation to the Holy Trinity... The eagle is two-headed in the sense of going to preach the Mystical Empire of Christ to the East and West... there is a ring of commitment of union with God... on a white background of the Holy Eucharist... with a red cross of the martyr life of purification and of the love of God... with the motto: believe and wait, united in the springtime of charity... the "id" is with the fire of the Holy Spirit in pilgrimage and identification with Christ to the Father's house doing His will.



Vows and Spirituality:

The Idente Missionaries, following Christ through the action of the Holy Spirit, consecrate themselves entirely to the Father and, faithful to their founding spirit, embrace the Evangelical Counsels through vows in fulfilling the ends of the Institute: the aspiration to holiness in community, the imperative of announcing the Gospel to all peoples, and the defense of Peter and his Magisterium.

The contemplation of things divine together with the inspiration to live a continual dialogue with God, is the first and foremost duty of all Idente Missionaries. Their intimate, silent, constant, loving prayer is the substance of their vocation and, therefore, their primary apostolic mission. 

Flowing from our spiritual lives, the social sensitivity of the Institute makes its own the frustrations denounced by human indigence: sickness, illiteracy, injustice—in short, all human suffering. This piety advocates particularly for the young who are defenseless in the face of human cruelty. In our Founder’s words, “Your aim, dear sons and daughters, is the same as Christ’s: to go through life doing good to all.”

Apostolate:

One of the distinguishing characteristics of the Idente Missionaries is to be in the world with civil professions and employment from which they carry out their apostolate, in close collaboration with the Church in general and the Dioceses in particular, always disposed to meet the needs of these as also those of the human person. For this reason, there are many activities that, consistent with its ends and charism, are being carried out in various parts of the world where the Institute is present. 

Charism and Mission:

The Idente spirit conforms to three principles: the commandment, “Be holy as your heavenly Father is holy” (Mt 5:48); the promissory counsel of Christ, “Wherever two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst” (Mt 18:20); and the apostolic imperative, “Go throughout the world and proclaim the Good News to all” (Mk 16:15). 

The apostolic character of the Idente Missionaries is found specifically in apologetic dialogue with intellectuals for the defense of revealed truth, and in outreach to youth, especially those who have either lost their Catholic faith or who have never had such a faith.  

The Institute is open to other apostolic missions and to the promotion of humanistic development, always preserving faithfulness to Christ and His Gospel, to the Church and Her mission in the world, and to the Institute’s own patrimony. It therefore adopts the spiritual and social needs of human life, establishing various kinds of foundations to benefit humanity and especially the Church. In carrying out their apostolate, all the members are intent on defending the Chair of Peter and the Magisterium, holding dear the words of Christ to the Prince of the Apostles: Tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam (Mt. 16:18).

Today its international expansion includes some ninety residences distributed in twenty-five nations. The institute maintains a close working relationship with the various dioceses where these foundations are located.
Los Misioneros Identes de Cristo Redentor:

Un Instituto de Vida Consagrada de Derecho Pontificio, en 2009 y compuesto por las ramas masculina y femenina. Fue fundado en España por Fernando Rielo en 1959.
 
Fundado por Fernando Rielo Pardal:

Fernando Rielo Pardal nace en Madrid el 28 de agosto de 1923. Desde muy niño vivió el amor a Dios en la Persona del Padre, de tal manera que ha regido su vida entera y marcado la espiritualidad de sus hijas e hijos.
A los 16 años uno intima experiencia le marco para siempre. Fue la llamada de nuestro Padre Celestial: "Sé santo, hijo mio, como Yo soy Santo." El mismo relata: "y yo le prometí que siempre me habría de arrepentir de todo aquello que le desagradara y que me pasaría toda mi existencia buscando su voluntad... y comencé a anhelar que en el corazón de todos los hombres entrara esta palabra del Padre."
Su pasión por Cristo le llevo, en esa mismo época, a  cincelar una oración que más tarde transmitirá a sus hijas e hijos identes, formando porte de su observancia: Te prometo, Señor, vivir y transmitir el Evangelio con el sacrificio de mi vida y de mi fama, fiel al mayor testimonio de amor: morir par Ti.
Esta intense espiritualidad se concretará con su ingreso a los 23 años en la Congregación del Santísimo Redentor, con quienes cursará los estudios filosóficos-teológicos. Pero la Providencia tenia otros proyectos para su vida por lo que sale de ella en 1954 y se reincorpora al mundo laboral en espera de nuevos signos de la voluntad divina. Es destinado como funcionario del Estado a Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Islas Canarias). Allí nacerá, el 29 de junio de 1959, el Instituto ld de Cristo Redentor, misioneras y misioneros identes.
A la fundación religiosa seguirán otras, con el deseo de buscar todas las vías posibles para llevar el Evangelio a todas las gentes. Esta aspiración desarrolló en él una extraordinaria creatividad en los ámbitos religioso y civil. Quiso hacer suyas las necesidades espirituales y sociales de la vida humana,creando diversas fundaciones y asociaciones en beneficio del bien espiritual, moral y civil de la humanidad.
En 1988 se traslada a Nueva York, a petición de sus hijas e hijos, para recibir especial asistencia medica necesaria tras la amputación de su pierna derecha. Esto, y otras enfermedades, le impedirón el ejercicio ordinario de movimientos. Allí morirá el 6 de diciembre de 2004, bajo el tierno cuidado de sus hijas e hijos en aquella ciudad.

"Idente"

El nombre de "Idente" tiene su raíz en el imperativo "Id" del verbo español "ir"; unido a la terminación "-ente" del participio latino -ens, -entis, significa caminar o caminar hacia adelante mientras nos unimos permanentemente a la conciencia filial divina de Cristo: la conciencia de ser hijo.


Significado del Emblema Idente

Fernando Rielo estando en el Seminario de los Redentoristas el día 24 de diciembre del 1951, día de la durante la Misa de Nochebuena, estaba muy desolado con una pregunta acerca de su misión;  durante el medio del dialogo con Dios apareció  una multitud  de futuros misioneros, con sufrimientos y alegrías, experimentó el anuncio de que Fernando Rielo iba a  fundar una Institución: vió dos ángeles que le mostraron el Emblema de ese Instituto.
El significado del Emblema tiene muchos valores espirituales: La estrella tiene relación con el día de los Reyes Magos…. La corona es triple en relación con la Santísima Trinidad… El águila es bicéfala en el sentido de ir a predicar el Imperio Místico de Cristo al Este y al Oeste… hay un anillo de compromiso de unión con Dios… en un fondo blanco de la Sagrada Eucaristía… con una cruz roja de la vida martirial de purificación y del amor de Dios… con el lema: cree y espera, unidos en la primavera de la caridad… el “id” es con el fuego del Espíritu Santo en peregrinación e identificación con Cristo a la casa del Padre haciendo Su voluntad.


Votos y espiritualidad:

Los Misioneros Identes, siguiendo a Cristo por la acción del Espíritu Santo, se consagran enteramente al Padre y, fieles a su espíritu fundacional, abrazan los Consejos Evangélicos a través de los votos en el cumplimiento de los fines del Instituto: la aspiración a la santidad en comunidad, el imperativo de anunciar el Evangelio a todos los pueblos y la defensa de Pedro y su Magisterio.

La contemplación de las cosas divinas junto con la inspiración de vivir un continuo diálogo con Dios, es el primer y principal deber de todos los Misioneros Identes. Su oración íntima, silenciosa, constante y amorosa es la sustancia de su vocación y, por lo tanto, su principal misión apostólica.

Fluyendo de nuestra vida espiritual, la sensibilidad social del Instituto hace suyas las frustraciones que denuncia la indigencia humana: la enfermedad, el analfabetismo, la injusticia, en fin, todo el sufrimiento humano. Esta piedad aboga especialmente por los jóvenes indefensos ante la crueldad humana. En palabras de nuestro Fundador, "Vuestro objetivo, queridos hijos e hijas, es el mismo que el de Cristo: pasar por la vida haciendo el bien a todos".

Apostolado:

Una de las características distintivas de los Misioneros Identes es estar en el mundo con profesiones y empleos civiles desde los que realizan su apostolado, en estrecha colaboración con la Iglesia en general y las Diócesis en particular, siempre dispuestos a atender las necesidades de éstas como las de la persona humana. Por ello, son muchas las actividades que, en consonancia con sus fines y su carisma, se llevan a cabo en diversas partes del mundo donde el Instituto está presente.

Carisma y misión:

El espíritu idente se ajusta a tres principios: el mandamiento: "Sed santos como vuestro Padre celestial es santo" (Mt 5,48); el consejo promisorio de Cristo: "Donde dos o tres se reúnen en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos" (Mt 18,20); y el imperativo apostólico: "Id por todo el mundo y proclamad la Buena Noticia a todos" (Mc 16,15).

El carácter apostólico de los Misioneros Identes se encuentra específicamente en el diálogo apologético con los intelectuales para la defensa de la verdad revelada, y en el acercamiento a los jóvenes, especialmente a aquellos que han perdido la fe católica o que nunca la han tenido.  

El Instituto está abierto a otras misiones apostólicas y a la promoción del desarrollo humanístico, preservando siempre la fidelidad a Cristo y a su Evangelio, a la Iglesia y a su misión en el mundo, y al propio patrimonio del Instituto. Por ello, se hace cargo de las necesidades espirituales y sociales de la vida humana, estableciendo diversos tipos de fundaciones en beneficio de la humanidad y, especialmente, de la Iglesia. En el desempeño de su apostolado, todos los miembros se esfuerzan por defender la Cátedra de Pedro y el Magisterio, haciendo suyas las palabras de Cristo al Príncipe de los Apóstoles: Tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam (Mt. 16:18).

Hoy en día su expansión internacional incluye unas noventa residencias distribuidas en veinticinco naciones. El instituto mantiene una estrecha relación de trabajo con las distintas diócesis donde se encuentran estas fundaciones.
